This year promises to be the biggest and best Parade Knox PrideFest has ever seen! Grand marshal TBA and Knox Pride invites you to be a part of the celebration! Do you own a business? Go to a supportive church? Are you in a community group? If so, grab a few friends and a banner or, better yet, build a float. Feel free to be as creative as possible while promoting your business, church, group, etc. Don’t forget the beads, candy, flyers, and water as the crowd always loves freebies! There will be trophies for the top 3 floats. 2018 PrideFest Theme, Experience Pride, in your float design/decoration and you might just be one of our winners!
You will also find a map of the parade route on that same page so you can get your friends to come cheer you on.
Staging for the parade will take place on Saturday June 23rd starting at 9:00 a.m. in the Jackson Avenue andPatton Street surface lot (under James White Parkway). All floats and motorized units must report in by 10:30 a.m. Floats will line up on Jackson Ave, walking units must report in by 10:30 a.m. Please make sure to car pool, there is limited space for parking and staging. The parade will start promptly at 11 a.m., going down Jackson Ave, Turning Left on Gay Street, turning left on Church Street continuing to Howard Baker JR Blvd., Turn Right on Honor Our Troops Drive for disembarking. Knox Pride will begin immediately following and run from 12 pm-9 pm at Mary Costa Plaza and Performance Lawn (Knoxville Civic Auditorium and Coliseum Lawn).
Ed Jarnagin will be coordinating the line up at the Jackson Avenue Parking lot, please see him or one of the volunteers with any questions you may have.
Please Remember: you can pass items out, but cannot throw anything during the parade. This is a family event; make sure your group conducts itself that way.
